Thank you, Hugh Hosman!

This week marked Hugh Hosman's last week with CPI in Vietnam. He has been instrumental in creating the CPI Direct Victim Assistance program. He was so effective, in fact, that we are able to now have an all Vietnamese office staff.

Not only will this save money for CPI, but by doing so we are building indigenous capacity for our program. This is a big step for CPI, and would not be possible without Hugh's vision and dedication to the mission of Clear Path.

Hugh now lives in Hue with his new wife, Nhi (not the Nhi that works for CPI!). Nhi will be helping us arrange our student trips to Vietnam... so we are all still close!

Thank you, Hugh!

  2. Hey Peter!
We actually are working on other trips as I type this. We are a small organization, so we can only do a few a year.
Someday we hope to do more.

  3. Ok let me know how this works out. I'll be happy to help out in any way.
On my recent flight from Montreal , I met this young student who was doing volunter works in Moncton and traveling back to Windsor. He saved up his own $$ to fund his trip for 3 months stint in a local rural communitiy. Needless to say his heart was also into travels. This makes it all the more intriguing. There are young peoople who are willing to work long hours in MacDonals, walmart to save for their trip and yet go out and serve a 3 months donor time to community.
There is a lot of synergy with kids, which still needs to be leveraged. Kid2Kid, COmmunity2Community. Just imagine how much better the world will be come when the 2nd generation actually thinks about their own counterparts on the other side of the globe and really serve in the mode of self-scarifice for other people ??

  4. I was a fortunate one to cross paths with Hugh. While in Vietnam last summer, Hugh and Nhi {and the entire CPI/VN Office} opened their hearts and doors and allowed us a glimpse into Vietnamese life, culture, and to our blended histories. Hugh--I wish you all the best as you move into a new chapter; thanks for sharing your heart and soul.
